*BARCLAYS YATANGAZA WADHAMINI WA MATEMBEZI YA HISANI YA 'STEP AHEAD'


Meneja wa Mawasiliano na Huduma za Jamii wa Benki ya Barclays, Tunu Kavishe (kushoto) akizungumza na waandishi wakati wa kutangaza wadhamini wa Matembezi ya Hisani ya ‘Step Ahead’ ambayo yamelenga kukusanya fedha kwaajili ya kusaidia afya ya mama na mtoto na yanataraji kufanyika Juni 8 mwaka huu jijini Dar es salaam. Kulia ni Meneja masoko wa benki hiyo, Sara Munema. Wadhamini hao ni Montage Ltd, ITV/Radio One na Capital TV, Clouds Media Group, Cocacola, Golden Tulip, Mwananchi Communications, Serena Hotels na Ultimate Security.

Every year, Barclays Bank Tanzania organises a fund-raising walk christened ‘Step-Ahead’. Barclays Tanzania held its first Step-Ahead event in the year 2008 through which funds were raised and donated towards cancer treatment for children at the Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI). Introduced globally in 2004, Step-Ahead is asignature Barclays initiative which aims to create awareness and resources in support of community needs.  

Speaking at the press conference today, Ms. Tunu Kavishe, the Barclays TanzaniaCommunications and Community Investment Manager said “Barclays Bank takes its Citizenship role seriously and recognizes it as one of our key business deliverables.

Taking on maternal and infant health as our flagship cause in Tanzania springs from our need to play a role in addressing the march towards achieving the 2015 MDG goals on maternal and infant health. 

We are pleased that our partners CCBRT and AMREF have joined us once again in this initiative. This exciting event will be held on the 8th June, 2013 at the Golden Tulip Hotel and will include a 5km walk in which all members of the public are invited to participate. Step Ahead Walk 2013 welcomes the support of all partners and the community at large.

The funds raised will go towards supporting the Capacity building for midwives, Fistula treatment and Reconstructive surgery for children born with correctible birth defects.

Tickets cost Tshs 5,000/- each and will be available at any Barclays Bank branch, Montage Limited offices – Ada Estate, Golden Tulip, Serena Hotels and Slipways
